8th & Algebra I Math Teacher

Learning and teaching are not only important, but defining aspects in my life.  Since pursuing a career in higher education, my unique approach has been to first build relationships with my students. With a true dedication to sharing knowledge, I have educated and inspired many young people inside and outside of the classroom. When I first found this passion for teaching math at an early age, few would have guessed the accolade and widespread success I would achieve. My teaching career began at Hosanna Christian Academy. I taught calculus, Algebra II, Algebra I, and Pre-Algebra. In 2013,  I received my M.Ed in Curriculum & Instruction with a concentration in mathematics. I will begin pursuing my graduate degree at Southeastern University this Fall 2021 in  Educational Leadership Ed.D. I join East Baton Rouge Parish School System in 2014.  I was a 2016-2017 Teacher of the Year Finalist.  I am starting my 12th year of teaching mathematics. I am married to Darrell Jackson Jr.  and to our union we have four beautiful children and two granddaughters. Our motto is Listen, Learn, Change. If you don't listen you can't learn, and if you don't learn you can't change. I'm looking forward to a great year!
